Schools...
I work with schools, bringing art into the classroom for all ages. Typically I will consult with the school well in advance, and decide what topics or curriculum areas are important for pupils and what elements of them can be explored through painting. These could be anything from families and homes to maths and literature.
Because I'm an artist, my main priority for you as a school is to leave you with some beautiful paintings that record the pupil experience. Schools often frame the results in large, inexpensive IKEA poster frames and hang in public areas of the school. My interest is the pupil experience of drawing and painting, and colour, colour, colour. I think you can see from the pictures below that colour leads the way.
I usually come into the school for a day or two, but sometimes longer, working with a particular class or age group each day, and starting and finishing the project in one go. Normally schools are able to provide all the paper, paints, brushes and other equipment from stock, but I can source materials at cost if the school does not have them. I usually work to the same format, with pupils gathered around a piece in a group and producing works to A1 format.
My fee is a daily fee, discounted for periods of more than one day, and within easy reach of my home I do not charge extras for travelling costs etc, but for a long trek maybe we can discuss that.
Here are some examples of pupil work in Cheshire, all painted to A1 (594mm x 841mm). Please get in touch by the "CONTACT" button above.
