Number seven in top ten might be this, from Raoul Dufy. Dufy is a lesson in how to free your hands and your eyes and your brain when you're painting. An absolutely beautiful painter of southern France and of interiors - I started by choosing an interior (I love the way he ignores perspective in small spaces) but went for this for way the density of the colour is kept light and spacious by the lightness of the drawing.
